Our Roots

Yishun Christian Church (Lutheran) (YCCL) began in 1982, when small groups started worshipping in homes as outreach efforts grew in the Marsiling area. From these early gatherings, the Lord formed a community centered on His Word, prayer, and fellowship—laying the foundation for a church family that would serve generations to come.

YCCL was officially established on 25 August 1985. In the same year, the church began constructing its own building, a project that continued through 1985–1987 and culminated in the completion of our current church facility in 1987.

One of the most distinctive aspects of our story is that YCCL shares its sanctuary and facilities with Yishun Christian Church (Anglican). This is a unique arrangement within a HDB estate, and it has fostered harmony and goodwill between the two denominations since both were established in the area. We are grateful for this shared witness, and for the spirit of cooperation that continues to bless our community life.

Over the years, as the congregation grew and ministry needs expanded, YCCL undertook major renovations in 2002 and 2015 to renew and improve our facilities, so that the church may continue to welcome worshippers and support ministry for many years ahead.
